Madagascar, known for its breathtaking landscapes, unique biodiversity, and vibrant culture, is a treasure trove of stories waiting to be told. In the heart of this enchanting island, amidst its diverse people, I stumbled upon a remarkable woman named Tija. Our connection began on the digital realm of Facebook but transcended virtual boundaries, evolving into a profound friendship that echoes shared passions and a vision for the future.

Tija, a woman of many talents, embodies the spirit of Madagascar's rich cultural tapestry. She used to be an interpreter like me, and she also loves writing.  However, Tija is not confined to the world of words; she is also a gifted singer and songwriter, using her musical talents to weave stories that resonate with the soul.

Our shared projects

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Tija is a formidable advocate for mental health, a cause that unites us in purpose. Our collaboration began with  Ilaina ny psy a project dedicated to promoting mental health awareness across Madagascar. Together, we worked tirelessly to break down stigmas surrounding mental health, fostering a community that values open conversations and support. Now she is a Senior Mental Health worker. 

Our shared journey took a new turn with the inception of Sakaiza.com the first Malagasy dating site connecting Malagasy individuals worldwide. Through this platform, we aimed to create a space where cultural connections thrive, transcending geographical boundaries. It's a testament to our belief in the power of connection and the importance of fostering relationships that transcend borders.

Last Thursday marked a significant milestone in Tija's journey as she launched her latest literary creation, "Mahaliana ny Mianatra" or "Studying is Interesting." The launch unfolded at the prestigious National Library, nestled under the Ministry of Communication and Culture. The event was a celebration of intellect, curiosity, and the pursuit of knowledge—a fitting reflection of Tija's multifaceted identity.
