Tropical New Year's Eve: Welcoming 2024 with sunset Views and Serenades

As the sun dipped below the horizon on the last day of 2023, my husband and I found ourselves on the picturesque island of Nosy Be, concluding a memorable day that would mark the beginning of a new year. Our journey began earlier in the day when we bid farewell to the tranquil shores of Nosy Iranja, embarking on a journey that would lead us to an enchanting New Year's Eve experience.

Upon our arrival at Nosy Be around 4 pm, we were greeted by the welcoming atmosphere of Au Sable Blanc Madirokely, our chosen haven for the night. The room we booked offered a breathtaking view of the sea, setting the stage for an evening filled with anticipation and celebration.

This afternoon , the vibrant energy of the island manifested itself in the rhythmic beats of dancing music emanating from nearby restaurants. While my husband opted for the comfort of our room, I couldn't resist the allure of the balcony, where I found myself dancing to the infectious tunes while admiring the ocean.  You can check the video here

The transition from day to night brought with it a moment of tranquility and reflection as I stood on the balcony, witnessing the beauty of the last sunset of 2023. The colors painted across the horizon served as a fitting backdrop to the anticipation of the festivities that awaited us.

Next plan : Ice-cream 

To satisfy our sweet tooth, we ventured to Ylang-ylang Hotel Madirokely for what locals boasted as some of the best ice cream on the island. Despite our initial plans for dinner at this charming spot, we discovered they were closing soon. Undeterred, we took a leisurely stroll around Ambatoloaka, where the night was still young, and the revelry had yet to reach its peak.

Last 2023 Dinner

Returning to Madirokely Beach, we settled for a delightful dinner at Tsy Manin. The evening air was filled with the aroma of delectable dishes, creating an ambiance that complemented the coastal setting. The allure of karaoke beckoned, and I found myself belting out two songs, contributing my own notes to the symphony of celebration.

As the clock approached midnight, we retreated to our room, where the allure of a series awaited. The subdued atmosphere of our private space allowed us to appreciate the transition between the old and the new, encapsulated in the melodies of our chosen show.

The grand finale awaited as the clock struck midnight, and from the comfort of our room, we were treated to a spectacular display of fireworks from the Royal Beach Hotel. The bursts of color against the night sky marked the commencement of 2024, symbolizing new beginnings and the promise of a year yet to unfold.

With the echoes of celebrations resonating in the air, we welcomed the new year with gratitude and anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead. As we bid adieu to the festivities and retreated to the serenity of our room, we embraced the promise of 2024, a year that began on the shores of Nosy Be, enveloped in the warmth of tropical celebration and the company of loved ones.
